Now, you can merge duplicate records en masse from any supported object in your org. This extended functionality is something our power users have been asking for and something we know everyone struggles with, regardless of industry or organization size. This empowers our users to choose between manually merging or allowing the system to automatically merge groups of duplicates.

Before you start merging duplicates, you have to identify them. Using the Run Duplicates Search function, it scans the entire org for duplicates on the desired object, using Salesforce's duplicate rules to find and match the duplicate record sets.

The manual merge feature is great when you have duplicates you want to review before merging. Manual merge helps when you want ultimate control over every field that is going to be merged.

The Automerge feature lets you quickly merge large amounts of records and automatically choose the master record based on the rule you set. The option to select the Oldest, Newest, or most recently modified record lets you determine how the merge behaves.
