The Marketing Calendar comes with a field called "Color Status" which allows you to change the color of the items shown on the calendar from blue to one of many options.
If you have campaigns that span many months and just clutter up your calendar, you can hide those items from the calendar by choosing the Color Status value of "Hide".
If you installed the Marketing Calendar years ago and are not seeing all the same options that are shown in our demos, it's because AppExchange apps can't update picklist options. After you have it installed, you need to manually add the rest of the color options if you want to take them. Here is how to update the list of options:
Navigate to Setup > Customize > Campaign > Fields
Scroll down to "Values" and click "New"
Paste the following list into the box and click "Save" (after removing your existing ones so it doesn't cause duplicates):
