WikiThing 1.1

First round of improvements

Updated over 3 years ago

Thanks to everyone that has tried out the beta version of WikiThing! It has been great seeing all the ways people have used this component - sales tips, in-app training, collaborating on customers, mentoring new employees with recommendations, and many more. And the feedback has been valuable for building the WikiThing roadmap.

In Version 1.1 we fixed any issues that would make it hard for people to start using WikiThing. Here's what has changed:

  • Added permission sets: Wiki Viewer, Wiki Contributor, and Wiki Moderator

  • Fixed issue where one wiki per record was sometimes showing all wiki posts

Release Schedule

  • April 16, 2021 - Live on the AppExchange

  • April 16, 2021 - Pushed to all Sandboxes

  • April 21, 2021 - Pushed to Production orgs

Permission Sets

The new permission sets make it easy to control user permissions with WikiThing. Here's a brief summary of when to use each one:

  • WikiThing Viewer: These users can only view WikiThing, view posts, and vote on posts.

  • WikiThing Contributor: This gives people the ability to view the WikiThing component, create posts, and edit posts.

  • WikiThing Moderator: This gives people the ability to view, edit, and delete any and all wiki posts and votes.
