Using Merge Fields in Email Templates
Reports and Dashboards
When the report is not dynamically filtered, you are welcome to use merge fields in the email template. After selecting the email template, simply specify the records that you want to use for the merge values.
💡Tip: Use the email template Preview button to preview the merge field results.
Dynamically Filtered Reports
For reports that are dynamically filtered, the object that you use in the recipients will be used for the merge fields. So make sure your email template merge fields match which object you'll be sending to. Note that if you enter custom values for the recipients, you will not be able to use merge fields in your template.
Since this report is sent to Users, I would use users in my merge fields
Using Images in Lightning Email Templates
When using images in Lightning Email Templates, your org settings may change whether or not the images render for recipients. For the most consistent results, we recommend always using the public URL option when adding images to lightning templates.
1. Get the URL
If you're hosting the image outside of Salesforce, just copy the URL. Otherwise, you can upload the images to files and generate a public URL.
First, go to the Files tab, upload your file, and then create a Public Link
Then, create a public link with no expiration date or password and copy it.
This is NOT the final link to use. One more step!
Open this link in a browser, right click on the image and copy the image address.
2. Add the Image to Your Template
Now you can use this image to add it to your template. Use the Web Image option to add the image.
